Below is the schedule for the day:
- VISIT TO THE PARK WITH TASTING OF CANAVESE WINES
A special visit dedicated to the park of the Castle and its gardens: a walk to discover the ancient monumental trees of Masino, from the cypress garden to the different types of flowers, from the Italian garden to the English style interventions. A journey through nature and history, enriched by a tasting of typical local wines on the panoramic terrace of the Castle, to enjoy an exceptional view over the Canavese area. - THE HEAD GARDENER TELLS
A special tour led by the Master Gardener Federico De Fazio and dedicated to the Castle’s park and its gardens: a walk to discover the ancient monumental trees of Masino, from the cypress garden to the different flowerings, from the Italian garden to the English style interventions, in a journey between nature and history. - A CENTURY-OLD PARK AND ITS HISTORY
From the Valperga family documents to the present day. A special guided tour to discover the many souls of the green spaces of the Castle of Masino, read in the light of ancient documents preserved in the archives and in the Library Valperga: formal garden, productive areas, romantic views with architecture.
The Castle finds its completion in the nature that surrounds it, as witnessed by the two picturesque views made by the Turinese painter Gaetano Vigna at the end of the eighteenth century, which will be exhibited for the first time.
Volumes and drawings will be on display in the Poets’ Gallery on Saturday and Sunday, to encourage free visits. - WORKSHOP FOR FAMILIES
A special workshop dedicated to nature and landscape. A route designed and dedicated to families and children: after an introduction to the surrounding landscape, with the largest morainic amphitheatre in Europe, to the history of the Castle and its millenary park, the children will build a small book, with drawings, collages and memories of the special day spent in the heart of Canavese. - EXHIBITION MASTERY OF CANAVESE
“Exercises in admiration”: The Canavese landscape in the words of Giacosa, Gozzano, Gotta, with Marco Peroni “A certain part of the territory, as it is perceived by the people” (European Landscape Convention).
