Giardino Botanico di Oropa

From Sunday 19 June until 12 September 2021, the new appointment (E)state a Oropawill be held at the Oropa Botanic Garden.

The naturalistic and cultural animation project promoted and organised by WWF Oasi e Aree Protette Piemontesi OdV, with the collaboration of the Administration of the Sanctuary of Oropa, Fondazione Funivie and the support of the City of Biella – Department of Culture,
aims to provide the public with a free guided tour service, with qualified tourist and nature guides.

The complex of the Sanctuary of Oropa, the Sacro Monte UNESCO World Heritage Site and the Monumental Cemetery offer a unique heritage to be discovered. The visit to the Upper Basilica gives instead the unique opportunity to visit the dome, discovering the history of the “Chiesa Nuova” from an unusual perspective.

The nature excursions (free of charge, but with compulsory booking for a maximum of 15 participants) include scenic routes and are aimed at average walkers. During the excursions you can make botanical observations, discover some aspects of the geology of the Reserve, the life of animals and the past of man.
